Parish Nurse, St Francis
We are seeking to appoint a Parish Nurse to join with the Parish Nurse from Grace Church, Salisbury. Our vision for this role is to build on an established Parish Nursing Service, aiming to improve and maintain the holistic health and well-being of local people in the Salisbury area and to make support more accessible for those who often struggle to access traditional services.
Hours: Initially 7.5 hours per week, further hours are dependent of service needs and funding
Working hours: organised in discussion with the Parish Nurse for Grace Church
Location: Salisbury and surrounding area (Venues around Salisbury, including clients’ homes)
Main Purpose of Job
The Parish Nurse will work jointly with the Parish Nurse of Grace Church to provide a service across Salisbury.
The Parish Nurse will provide support for the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of individuals based on Christ’s teaching and ministry. The Parish Nurse does not replace NHS services or undertake traditional nursing duties, instead, they act as a bridge between many organisations offering health education, advocacy and compassionate listening whilst working closely with GPS and other professionals.
Eligibility and Occupational Requirement
The applicant must have a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. (NMC) and at least 2 years’ experience as a qualified nurse.
Must have completed the Parish Nursing Ministries UK (PNMUK) Preparation for Practice Programme.
This post is subject to an occupational requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Paragraph 3).
This post requires both public indemnity insurance and professional indemnity, which is organised by Grace Church, Salisbury.
