With many people dying from the Corona virus, how can we grieve well?
These are difficult times to be grieving; particularly with the requirement to distance ourselves from one another, and the reduced numbers who can attend funerals. “In my last parish I had the privilege of knowing a very wise, elderly, christian. His name was Sir Tom Lees. 50 years earlier he had founded one of the first charismatic christian communities in this country with his wife Faith. It was called “The Post Green Community”. Many hundreds of people came to faith or grew in faith through their extraordinary ministry. As Tom was aging and thinking about his own death, he preached one Sunday morning about how he viewed his own death as a follower of Jesus. 5 years later Tom died, and we included his own sermon as part of our thanksgiving to God for his extraordinary life – a life lived very closely to Jesus.
