Sunday Youth Programme

At St.Francis Youth we are passionate about creating spaces for young people to grow in their faith and life with God. We believe that being a Christian is more than simply knowing our Bible and turning up to church on a Sunday, instead it’s about learning to live with God at the centre of our lives by practising the way of Jesus together.

We believe in and value collaborating with our brothers and sisters in faith to make journeying with Jesus more fulfilling and accessible, therefore a lot of our activities are co-run by other churches, held in other churches or we endorse each other’s groups. The result of this is a programme of events/activities which are available to all young people regardless of which church you/your family attends on a Sunday morning – if you are available and able to access any of the groups, we encourage you to do so – more details about this below

Sunday mornings

During a normal Sunday service youth (everyone in school yrs 6-13) are invited to join their family or friends in the main church for worship, we then go to the Youth Lounge. We have breakfast, play a game, then read the Bible or focus on a particular theme with lots of space for conversation, we always try to make space for prayer before we head back to church for the final worship song.

Youth are seen as an important part of our church and we empower our youth to serve in whatever area of church life that they enjoy/would like to grow experience in, so you may see young people welcoming you, serving you tea/coffee, leading kids or youth groups, working the sound/lighting desks and in our worship band. We are also looking into youth running our very own podcast series.
